I run finance and operations for a family real-estate portfolio: 80+ units, twenty separate entities, and books that have to reconcile every month. After coming into the role, I built the software it runs on now – it's called Shamar, after the Hebrew word in Genesis 2 for stewarding.
Alongside my trade, I'm also finishing a Master of Divinity at Asbury Theological Seminary. I've spent a year as a youth pastor and another as a pastoral associate, where I taught monthly and ran the church's books.
When the software I need doesn't exist, I build it! Most recently a Greek tutor, to get my classmates and me through seminary vocabulary. I've also done contract work for Snorkel AI, writing benchmark questions designed to expose where LLMs fail in religious studies and theology.
Otherwise about me: practicing chess, Chick-fil-A milkshake runs, a growing DVD collection, and trying to convince my wife to learn tennis.
